A Tribute to

Abbas Rezayazdi

Mr. Abbas Rezayazdi has informed me that he no longer will be able to continue administering the social activities of our community. It is only with profound sadness that I respect and accept his decision.

His services will be sadly missed. Indeed for more than fourteen years Abbas single handedly arranged and conducted all the parties and social events for our ethic community. We gathered in these events to celebrate our heritage and to uphold our identity. We feasted, sang, and danced, but in the process we also forged stronger community bonds and reaffirmed our way of life. Abbas was instrumental through of it all. On behalf of the community I thank him wholeheartedly for giving us a gift of his time and effort for the past fourteen years.

Our community has been exemplary in sustaining a close knit milieu wherein we have thrived and treated each other like family members. We draw moral support from our collective being and we revel in such spirit most exuberantly in Nowruz, Siezde-Bedar, and alike. I thank Abbas one more time, and for the last time, for running the show for us.

Presently there is a void and we need new and fresh faces to step forward and take charge of our social events. I hope I will hear from many of you in the near future to start planning for Nowruz soon. Indeed, Nowruz is just around the corner and the sooner we attend to it the better.
